In January 2006, Triple Candie opened its first artless exhibition—a retrospective on the work of David Hammons, realized without the involvement of the artist and taking the form of100 photocopies and computer printouts. Through the spring and early summer, a mix of conventional and artless shows followed until July 9, when Triple Candie stopped working with artists altogether, rarely exhibited art objects, but kept producing exhibition about art, its myths and histories, the art world, and how art objects aquire value.
