Killing time while Shelly dressed down a man at the hors d'oeuves table, I slipped out the back door of the Annapolis Maritime Museum and into the winter night. A wooden pier led me out onto Black Bay Creek where watched the brilliant path of pale-yellow moonlight struggle to hold its form on the waves. Sometime later, I found Shelly again and dragged her out to see it but it was gone.
